A
PERSONALIZED PET PORTRAIT IN CLAY SCULPTURE TO REMEMBER
YOU VERY SPECIAL BEST FRIEND
Your time with us, however brief, was worth a hundred
years of happiness. We loved you for your playful
spirit...the perfect pet... You made us laugh out loud
and from the bottoms of our hearts.
Your tail reminded us always of you undivided loyalty
and sense of family. You little kisses showed patience
and forgiveness when we ignored you...You saw us for
what's inside, and we're happy that you trained us that
way....not the other way around. We love the thought of
you now and each and every time we are reminded of your
undying spirit.
So, this little work of art, to remind us that you're
still here, will be our "tail that wags the dog"...it
will lift the human spirit that you had so much a part
of we will smile when we think of you...always.
"Near this spot are deposited the remains of one who
possessed beauty without vanity, strength without
insolence, courage without ferocity, and all the virtues
of Man, without his vices. This praise, which would be
unmeaning flattery if inscribed over human ashes, is but
a just tribute to the memory of Boatswain, a dog.
George Noel Gordon,
Lord Byron (1788-1824) inscription of the monument of a
Newfoundland dog (1808)
